Start of the PGcert journey

I am starting my Pgcert journey, I am a lecturer at the CCW Foundation since a year, teaching in Textile and 3D Spatial Design. I am also a practicing designer with a practice going across social designer, material development and visual anthropology.

I am also a visiting lecturer at the Kingston University Foundation where I deliver a Podcast radio program which I designed to support student during the first lockdown and introducing field research using sound. This project has now 3 years and has support numerous Foundation students FMP.

It has shown the power of learning outside the wall of the university and allowed students to reflect on their learning journey, engage with different communities outside their classmate, to work with other discipline than their pathway and to experiment field research and gathering data through interviews.

The project is now called Polyphone Radio and we are just starting a new journey with 25 students who are introduce to sound, interview techniques and editing. Their are now getting to know this tool and starting thinking about their subject while being brief about the FMP.

This project has for its core to help students to gain confidence in their voice, to develop their self directing way of working and to think more critically about a topic of their choice.
